"Hi" my name is Michael Merriweather and I love Stockton!
Stockton is blessed with a rich diversity of talented people but it will take real leadership to bring us together if we are to solve the challenges facing our city.
We have increased our police staff yet we still have one of the highest crime rates in the valley.
We have invested in beautiful downtown projects but can’t afford to trim neighborhood trees or fix neighborhood roads and sidewalks.
Stockton needs a leader that will restore trust in our government and invest in our youth, our neighborhoods and our families. Good schools, clean, safe neighborhoods and an effective, efficient government will attract new employers to invest in Stockton.
Stockton needs a leader that will attract quality local jobs and expand partnerships with our school districts to provide kids with positive alternatives to drugs and gangs.
Solving our crime problem must start with our youth.
